Wow. We live in a day where people just don’t care anymore. So much, in fact, that they feel compelled to take out one of the pillar’s of innocence and the future with them.

Yesterday Rockridge Secondary School (5 minutes from my house) went into Lockdown. Lockdown is a protocol (an initiative by the Canadian government) to reduce fatalities in the event of dangerous people or otherwise entering the school. According to CBC’s report, two men carrying rifles were spotting outside the school. Everyone went into immediate lockdown, locking all doors inside and outside the school and hiding all students away from windows and doors with the lights off.

The lockdown event lasted from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. During the lockdown period there were K9 an SWAT units and dozens of cop cars. Not to mention helicopters.

Quite nerve-racking to say the least, as my step-brother was there in lockdown that day.
