I’m somewhat done operating under a particular company name, now going by my actual name with slight hints towards “Megahertz Studios”, “So Hip it MHz! Studios”, and the likes.

The focus is now on simple, clean design elements with direct attention paid towards my works, not wordy content. The style of the brief words on the site is light and friendly. I’m pitching the Joe The Plumber style.

And, of course, there will be a lot of outdated links. So I did my best to get jQuery to inform a user of a new page instead of breaking it. Pages such as the old portfolio will inform you of the updated page.

Lets hope this will generate more business and clients!

Oh and did I mention I might try radio advertising?

The about page now details me, Justin Alexander Scott Bull, and my little life story.

Yeah I had to plug my full name because of Google and various other search engines. You see, too many Justin Bulls exist… Especially in my industry. C3Studios still has a better ranking with my name than So Hip it MHz! Studios. Hopefully the new about page changes that.

Besides… I like my full name. Sounds rather regal methinks.

Everyone loves the FML site right? A lot of spin-offs have been created such as MLIN and MLIA.

Well I wanted to make my own spin-off, and I thought someone made the effort to produce some form of open-source version of the script! Apparently not.

So, being the odd guy I am, embarked on a massive journey through MySQL and PHP 5 to produce… OpenFMyLife!

It is my first complete project under PHP 5 OOP. That is, it is very sexy under the hood (at least I think it is).

It is currently in pre-alpha development, but will soon be available for download for everyone to try out. The reason is, Emmjay and I wanted to create an abomination: MyLifeIsEatingDisorder’d or “MLIED”. Dodging a modular configuration route, I just built “MLIED” with the intent of just rewriting some of it into the OFML format.

So MLIED is online and working, save a few features, and then OpenFMyLife version 1.0.0 will be out!

I invite all those who know decent OOP programming to pick it apart and let me know of any poor programming conventions.

Hello all and Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or what-have-you.

I’ve finally finished my first semester at Ryerson University, and what a whirlwind of activity! I’ve had highs, lows, and lots of lost sleep but it was worth it.

I have yet to receive my final marks, but things are looking pretty good as far as Computer Science 109 goes: With 101% on the midterm examination and 100% on both assignments, I think I’m slated for a high mark.

Got a boatload of stuff at Boxing Day, including Terabyte drives, an HD camcorder, designer dress shirts, and a blazer. All that for ~$300; not a bad haul, eh?

Well its been a while since I’ve updated the blog. Since then a lot has happened, especially in regards to friends. The majority of my time has been spent with two people in particular: Maryjane “Emmjay” Brown, and Alexander “Burtle” Orchard. These two are brimming with hilarity and good times to come.

Pretty much sums them up!

So as part as my crazy non-step attempts to become more interesting, I’m now trying to learn another language. Yes that’s right, Mr. Failed-French is going to learn Japanese. Emmjay is the one who got me into it and I’m currently using the Rosetta Stone program to do so (ITS AMAZING!). I’ve yet to memorize the Hiragana and Katakana alphabets, so I’m just working with Romaji (roman characters) for the time being.

I’ll keep you all updated as I struggle through the pain that is learning a language.

Finally, my friend is getting married tomorrow! He has bestowed the honour of Best Man upon me so it’ll be a nice wrap-up for 2009.

I feel ready for next semester. I think I’ll do a lot better, and be on the ball more, than first term.

Two hours in and I’ve already unpacked– Looks like I’ve been living here for years. Orientation Week begins tomorrow and something tells me I’m going to have a blast.

Oh yeah, and the view is pretty kick-ass.
