Hello all and Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or what-have-you.
I’ve finally finished my first semester at Ryerson University, and what a whirlwind of activity! I’ve had highs, lows, and lots of lost sleep but it was worth it.
I have yet to receive my final marks, but things are looking pretty good as far as Computer Science 109 goes: With 101% on the midterm examination and 100% on both assignments, I think I’m slated for a high mark.
Got a boatload of stuff at Boxing Day, including Terabyte drives, an HD camcorder, designer dress shirts, and a blazer. All that for ~$300; not a bad haul, eh?
Well its been a while since I’ve updated the blog. Since then a lot has happened, especially in regards to friends. The majority of my time has been spent with two people in particular: Maryjane “Emmjay” Brown, and Alexander “Burtle” Orchard. These two are brimming with hilarity and good times to come.
Pretty much sums them up!
So as part as my crazy non-step attempts to become more interesting, I’m now trying to learn another language. Yes that’s right, Mr. Failed-French is going to learn Japanese. Emmjay is the one who got me into it and I’m currently using the Rosetta Stone program to do so (ITS AMAZING!). I’ve yet to memorize the Hiragana and Katakana alphabets, so I’m just working with Romaji (roman characters) for the time being.
I’ll keep you all updated as I struggle through the pain that is learning a language.
Finally, my friend is getting married tomorrow! He has bestowed the honour of Best Man upon me so it’ll be a nice wrap-up for 2009.
I feel ready for next semester. I think I’ll do a lot better, and be on the ball more, than first term.
